Privacy & Data Usage Policy

This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the AugurLens.AI website and services (the "Service"), which are operated by SageStack Technologies, LLC, a California limited liability company ("SageStack," "we," "us"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Data We Collect

Account information. When you sign up we collect your first name, last name, email address, and chosen subscription plan. Your password is hashed with bcrypt before storage — we never store or see your plaintext password.

Billing information. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card number and full payment details go directly to Stripe and are never stored on our servers. We store only Stripe customer and subscription identifiers and your subscription status so we can manage your plan.

Content you provide. Information you enter into the Service — such as trade journal entries and account settings — is stored so we can provide those features back to you.

Usage and analytics data. We use PostHog to understand how the Service is used: page views, feature usage events (for example, signing up, starting a trial, viewing an analysis), and, once you log in, an identifier tied to your account. This helps us improve the product.

Technical data. Like most web services, our infrastructure logs may record IP addresses, browser type, and request metadata for security and operations.

Cookies and local storage. We use browser local storage for your session token (to keep you logged in) and your theme preference. PostHog sets cookies/local storage to support analytics. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Do Not Track. Some browsers send "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals. Like most services, we do not currently respond to DNT signals; our analytics practices are the same for all users and are described above.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and operate the Service, including authentication and displaying your signals, journal, and settings;
  • To process subscription payments and manage trials, renewals, and cancellations;
  • To send transactional emails — account verification, password resets, and important service notices — from our sending address (noreply@augurlens.ai);
  • To understand product usage and improve the Service;
  • To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising or marketing.

3. Who Processes Your Data

We rely on a small number of service providers to run AugurLens.AI:

  • Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing (stripe.com/privacy);
  • PostHog — product analytics (posthog.com/privacy);
  • Google Cloud Platform — application hosting and database, located in the United States (us-central1);
  • Google Workspace / Gmail — delivery of transactional emails;
  • Alpaca Markets — source of market data. Market data flows into the Service; no personal data about you is shared with Alpaca.

Each provider receives only the data needed to perform its function.

4. Data Retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to, we delete your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain records for legal, tax, or accounting purposes (for example, billing records retained by Stripe). Aggregated or de-identified data that no longer identifies you may be retained.

5. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including TLS encryption in transit, bcrypt password hashing, secrets management for credentials, and access controls on production systems. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can:

  • Update your name and account details in account settings;
  • Cancel your subscription at any time in account settings;
  • Email us at support@augurlens.ai to request access to or deletion of your data.

We will respond to verified requests within a reasonable timeframe and as required by applicable law (including, where applicable, the GDPR and CCPA).

California residents. The Service is operated by SageStack Technologies, LLC from California. California residents may request disclosure of the categories of personal information we collect (listed in Section 1), request deletion or correction of their personal information, and will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA/CPRA. To exercise any of these rights, email support@augurlens.ai.

7. Children

The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. International Users

The Service is operated from the United States and data is stored on servers located in the United States. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., you consent to the transfer and processing of your data in the U.S.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice (for example, by email or an in-app notice) before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version.
